Registration

Register to volunteer for the CWBA's semi‐annual volunteer event for LawLine 9. No particular area of legal expertise needed; all of the information you need to convey to callers is provided to you in a notebook at the studio. The goal is to answer the callers question to the best of your ability. In many circumstances, callers need a legal referral.

Lawline 9 at 9News is an Ask-a-Lawyer program designed to aid the public’s understanding of legal issues. From 4:00 – 5:30 p.m., volunteer attorneys offer free legal information to callers during the newscast. The volunteers are expected to provide information on options, legal information based on brief descriptions of legal issues and suggestions where the individual may go for legal assistance. Lawline 9 is not designed to provide specific legal advice for individual circumstances or serve as advertisement for law firms. Attorney volunteers do not give out personal contact information and are asked not to use their full name. Please note that any volunteer is covered by the Denver Bar Association and CWBA insurance.

We need 4 to 6 attorney volunteers. Please note that, because this is live television, you will need to arrive 30 minutes before show time.

Lawline 9 is hosted at the Channel 9 studios are located at 500 E. Speer Blvd, Denver, CO 80203 (Speer and Logan - Southeast corner).  Parking is on the east side of the building or on the street south (behind) of the studio. Upon arrival you will be greeted by 9News or a Denver Bar Association staff member to receive a pass.
