The CWBA Public Policy Committee is excited to announce its first-ever Ballot Training!

Join us October 13th from Noon – 1:15 p.m. as Greg Sobetski, Principal Economist at the Colorado Legislative Council Staff (LCS) provides an overview and explanation of the measures on the Colorado 2020 Ballot. LCS serves as the nonpartisan research arm of the Colorado General Assembly and is responsible for drafting Colorado’s Blue Book.

LCS will briefly discuss the Colorado Ballot process and then walk us through all of Colorado’s Ballot measures, with special time given to Proposition 75 (Citizenship Qualification  of Voters); Proposition 115 (Prohibition of Abortion after 22 weeks); Proposition 118 (Paid Family & Medical Leave); and, Amendment B (Property Taxes).

Louise Myrland, Vice President of Programs at The Women’s Foundation of Colorado (WFCO) will also inform us about The Womanifesto, the WFCO's “Nonpartisan Ballot Guide for Everyone Who Cares About Strengthening Colorado.” This informative event will decode the ballot measure language and explain the pro arguments and con arguments to each measure.

Attendees will leave the event ready to make educated decisions about their ballot votes, and armed with more knowledge and understanding of our ballot measures and their impact on our state, the economy, and women and families.
