CWBA Past President Patricia Jarzobski Sworn In As 2016-17 CBA President
Congratulations to CWBA Past President Patricia Jarzobski, incoming ColoradoBar Association President, who this morning was sworn in by Chief Justice Nancy Rice (also a CWBA member) at the CBA Board of Governors meeting. Patty is the first female CBA president in 10 years and the fifth female president in the CBA's 119-year history.
Jarzobski has been a personal injury attorney in Colorado for more than 25 years. Outside the courtroom, she is known as an advocate for the advancement of women and diverse attorneys.
Jarzobski received her BA in political science from the University of Colorado in 1986 and her JD from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law in 1989. She worked for the firm of Schaden, Lampert & Lampert from 1989 to 1996, when she hung her shingle and became the president and owner of her firm, Patricia M. Jarzobski P.C.
In addition to her involvement with the CBA, Jarzobski is an active member of the Colorado Women’s Bar Association, serving as president in 2012–13. She was named one of the top women lawyers in 2015 by Law Week Colorado. As the first woman to lead the CBA in a decade and only the fifth in the past century, she is excited about her potential impact on the woman and diverse attorneys in the legal community. Her presidential plans include focusing on diversity issues and helping women and diverse attorneys into more leadership roles. (Reprinted from The Docket.)
